Shennawy is an Egyptian comic artist and graphic designer who uses sequential art as social commentary on contemporary Arab life. He founded TokTok magazine in 2011 and co-established the CairoComix festival, building platforms for emerging artists across the region.

"Grand Hotel" by Shennawy reimagines a vintage Cairo travel poster — Art Deco architecture, palm trees, Arabic typography — capturing the romanticised luxury that mid-century advertising sold to Western tourists.
