Saif Fradj is a Tunisian visual artist and filmmaker born in Boumerdes, Mahdia, and based in Sousse. He originally pursued medicine at the Faculty of Sousse before turning to photography and filmmaking, driven by a commitment to capture reality through the lens.
His practice combines mobile, analog, and digital photography with video and film, working with an experimental approach. Fradj's work explores the fragility of reality, examining questions of strangeness, frontiers, and identity within contexts of neo-colonialism. He has deliberately remained rooted in his homeland, seeking to develop an aesthetic that reflects the South and Arab identity.
His work has been exhibited and screened across Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, France, and Portugal. Fradj is a co-founder of the Bouma Collective and South of Ajdabya, collaborative initiatives that extend his artistic practice into community-focused projects addressing contemporary social and cultural issues.
